Drywall Repair After HVAC Installation

An HVAC technician patched the wall after installing a mini-split system, but the patch was noticeable, and our client wanted it to disappear completely. During the quote, we explained that while we could use some of their leftover paint, getting a truly invisible touch-up wasn't realistic. They decided it was a good time to finally repaint the room as well. In our experience, filling damage like this usually ends up being more work than removing the damaged drywall and fitting a new piece. We cut out the damaged section, secured the replacement solidly, and finished with specialty drywall tape and three coats of compound to feather the edges into the surrounding wall. While we had the tools out, we fixed a few other minor blemishes nearby. After two coats of paint, the wall blended in completely and the room went from damaged and dated to the look our client wanted.
