Secure Mount for Stair Safety Gate Brackets

A child safety gate needed to be installed at this location. There were no studs in the wall where we needed them. We do not consider wall anchors alone to be adequate in a safety critical application. To create a solid mounting point, hard wood braces were fabricated that bridge the gap between wall structure and the necessary location. One side is secured to a stud, with the other secured using heavy duty wall toggles. As a cosmetic touch the wood was color matched to the floor.
